I’m freaking huge. I don’t recognize my feet anymore. I do love my belly though. I think it’s the best part of the whole pregnancy thing. I know it contains a person, but the belly itself is like its own person too. It’s as if commenting on the belly doesn’t affect me, I’m not even there. I’ve had people, strangers, talk about my belly right in front of me, sizing it up and betting on my due date. It’s all quite amusing.
My latest crafting attempt:
It's supposed to be a bear, but I guess it can pass for just about anything.
Step 1: drawing it out
Step2: planning out the bits of fabric that I had. I only had bits and pieces, no big piece
Step 3: getting ready for sewing - drawing on the fabric using the template above. The sewing is done on the back of the fabric and later I turn it right side out.
Step 4: figured out that I would like the eyes sewed first to the face before actually making the face, also realized that I would like to attach the ears before I sew the face as well.
Step 5: sewing arms, legs and ears
Step 6: turning the legs, arms and ears right side out
Step 7: filling out the ears with fabric left over
Step 8: attaching the ears to the front of the face to sew them together with the face
Step 9: getting the face ready for sewing. The ears are attached to the front.
Step 10: the face is done and stuffed, so are the arms and legs.
Step 11: this was a hard one. I attached the head, arms and legs to the front of the body and then sewed the body like I did the face
Step 12: the body is done and turned right side out. The head, arms and legs are attached.
Step 13: The body is stuffed with left over fabric and sewn shut. I've also attached a nose.
Step 14: replacing the eyes since buttons can be a chocking hazard, adding details to ears, paws, nose and tummy
FINAL: 100% cotton, the toy is ready for its first bath next time I do laundry.
